Energy Independence and Security Act

There are furnace regulations that became effective May 1, 2013. According to the Energy Independence and Security Act passed by Congress, all gas furnaces in the North-East Region must have at least 90% Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE). This is higher than the current standard of 78%.

This could be costly when it comes time to replace your existing furnace. 3 main issues likely to arise are:

1. Equipment space constraints
2. Exhaust venting requirements
3. Condensate disposal

Alpine has dealt with many homes encumbered by these issues and we can help. A 90% efficient furnace will improve your heating and lower your utility bill. Depending upon your situation, it may be wise to upgrade your older furnace. Get a free estimate for different furnace options or call us.
